Can I Make My Own Jewelry?

Beware these instructions may cause you to have a addiction!

Have you ever looked at a piece of jewelry but wished it had something more... a color?length? bigger in style? Then you just settle for it because what can you do? Make it yourself that what you can do!

I definitely just stumbled upon making jewelry one day by buying a complete jewelry making set. In the set it included enough beads to make a necklace and bracelet, clasps, crimp beads, a bead board, and also a 3 in 1 jewelry tool.

3 Steps to Make Your Own Jewelry

  1. Use your bead board-I have learned to visualize my creations. The first time I made a necklace, I was confident that the order I placed my beads was what I wanted. After stringing the beads I found out that I didn't like my creation at all. Through each piece I made I have learned the art to visualize how it will look after I complete, moving beads around and playing with the order, and be daring! Make something that you have not seen in the store.

2. Know your lengths

  • Choker 14 to 16 inches
  • Princess 16 to 20 inches
  • Matinee 23-27 inches
  • Lariat 36 to 50 inches
  • Bracelet 7 to 8 inches
  • Anklet 8 to 9 inches

3. The Smaller the bead the longer it will take you

Where Can You Buy Beads

  1. Online: http://hubpages.com/hub/Beads-Beads-and-more-Beads check my page out on where to buy beads online
  2. Local Crafts stores check your yellow pages
  3. Bead Stores

Just remember every piece is a lesson learned, you are not a expert after making a piece and there are many ways to make something.
